EZ8 Running Camp for Novice Runners:
|
Train smarter...not harder!!
This camp is designed for beginner
runners with little previous exposure to
running or those who have been out of
running for an extended period.
The 4 week camp takes participants from
easy running to endurance running in a
very graduated manner. The
ultimate goal is to be able to run an
8-minute mile with EASE, thus the
name...Easy Eight (EZ8). You learn
how to run better and more efficiently.
It's always different and a lot of fun.
You don't have to be a great runner to
begin. The EZ8 running camp
average age is late twenties to late
fifties.
Sherry Shelton in association with
North Atlanta Boot Camp, coaches
this co-ed running camp. You will
feel rewarded by running an optional 1K

FASTEST speed at the end of the camp. You'll also receive a
great EZ8 T-shirt on graduation day!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What if I'm not a very fast
runner?
A. You are welcome to join us. This
co-ed running
program is geared toward the beginner or
novice runner or for those who have been out of running for
an extended period. We will
coach you and teach you to become a faster
and more efficient runner.
Q. I enjoy running, but I'm not
very good. I'm a little nervous about
always being the last runner. Will I be
holding the group back?
A. No, you won't hold anyone back. The
way the program is designed, you won't
ever feel like you are the last runner.
Everyone is very encouraging. There is
no competition among campers. More than
anything, you will feel empowered and
become a great runner before long.
Q. What does EZ8 stand for?
A. EZ8 (Easy Eight) gained its name
because our goal is for you to run an eight-minute mile with
ease.
Q. What happens if half way through
the running session I become injured,
will I get a refund?
A. First of all, we will take every precaution
that you will not become injured. However,
in the unlikely event you do become injured
you will receive a credit for the missed
days toward a future running camp. We
also have an alignment with North
Atlanta Boot Camp, and that credit
may also be applied to one of their fitness
boot camps.
Q. I have been told that I run
like a duck, can you fix that?
A. Everyone has their own unique running
style. The way you run is often due to
your biomechanics. Sometimes it is because
you just haven't learned proper body alignment
and technique. We will assess your running
style and help you incorporate modifications
as needed.
Q. I can't breathe when I run,
so I can't run very far. What is the furthest
you run?
A. Often times people run too fast, so
they go anaerobic immediately.
(They feel out of breath.) Another reason
you may have challenges breathing is you
are breathing from your chest. Breathing
this way creates "shallow breathing."
We will teach you techniques so you can
breathe more easily while you run. Every
week our distance will vary. You will
build on your distance. The furthest you
will run will be 5-6 miles.
Q. If I miss
one or several EZ8 running camp sessions, can I make them
up?
A. Unlike the Boot Camps, there are no
make-up sessions for the E8 Running Camp. E8 running
camp training sessions are all progressive. However,
we do have an alignment with
North Atlanta Boot Camp so
credit can be applied to one of their fitness boot camps.
Q. Do I need
to purchase running shoes prior to camp?
A. You will need running shoes that
have been properly fitted and evaluated according to your
running style, foot type, etc. If you have not already
purchased running gear prior to camp, your Coach will send
you information on why, where and how to purchase correct
running gear to maximize performance and prevent risk of
injury once you register for camp.
Q. Will
there be camp if it's raining and/or lightening or
thundering?
A. We will have camp if it's raining.
However, if it's raining hard, lightening or thundering,
camp will be cancelled. Your EZ8 Coach will contact
you if camp is cancelled during any inclement weather.
Q. Where do
we meet?
